About the Event
As winter solstice approaches, we diverge from our traditional yuletide program with a transcendent musical experience celebrating the power of light to pierce the darkest nights. Immerse yourself in an evening of enchanting voices that invites you to reflect on the shifting balance and profound symbolism of the shortest day of the year.
Featuring Vaughan Williams' Dona Nobis Pacem and including Serenity (O Magnum Mysterium) by Ola Gjeilo, What Child is This (with Ukranian Bell Carol) by Amy Gordon, and In the Bleak Midwinter by Abbie Betinis among others.
We welcome SACRA/PROFANA's Founding Director and Principle Guest Conductor, Krishan Oberoi, back to San Diego for this concert. Krishan will share conducting responsibilities with SACRA/PROFANA's Assistant Conductor Aaron Burgett.
