Sacra/Profana was founded in June of 2008 by Krishan Oberoi, who received his Master's Degree in Choral Conducting from the Yale School of Music in 2006. Sensing the opportunity for a refined, accesible brand of choral singing in San Diego, Krishan went about recruiting some of the finest professional vocalists in the area. The ensemble's debut was in February of 2009.
